Preparing for your engagement session
Your engagement session is more than just photos—it's a chance to reconnect, have fun, and celebrate this exciting season of your life. My goal is to make you feel completely at ease so your authentic connection shines through.
Coordinate, don't match. Choose colors that complement each other rather than wearing the exact same thing. Earth tones, neutrals, and soft pastels photograph beautifully.
Movement is key. Flowy dresses and fabrics that catch the wind add a romantic, cinematic quality to your images.
Be comfortable. If you feel good in what you're wearing, it will show. Bring a second outfit if you want variety (e.g., one casual, one formal).
Lighting is everything. We schedule sessions 1-2 hours before sunset. This "Golden Hour" provides that soft, flattering, warm glow you see in my portfolio.
Punctuality matters. The sun doesn't wait! Arriving on time ensures we get the full benefit of this magical light.
Meaningful spots. Think about places that tell your story—where you had your first date, a favorite park, or a downtown street you love.
Variety. I can recommend locations that offer diverse backdrops within walking distance, like a park near a historic city center.
Ignore the camera. Focus on each other. Laugh, hold hands, whisper jokes. The best shots happen in the "in-between" moments.
Trust the process. I'll guide you through poses that feel natural, not stiff. You don't need to be a model—you just need to be in love.
